JIMBU is an herb belonging to the onion family, used extensively in some regions of Nepal and in some central Himalayan states of India, like Uttarakhand, where it is called Jamboo / Faran
it is used to flavor vegetables, pickles, and meat. In the rest of Nepal it is most commonly used to flavor urad dal or lentils
it is one of the best herbal teas for health. Due to Collection on high hill more than 5000ft may some rocks are collected on Jimbu please try to understand the difficulty.
“Jimbu collection is a very difficult job. People have to walk far away from the village (in an average 4.4 hours from the village) in dry, sloppy and difficult areas where water is scarce. Sometimes people needed over night camping on the sites. Further, people complained about headache when they were engaged in collecting jimbu for several hours.”
Jimmu tea (boiled with salt and turmeric) is a popular home remedy for cough and cold in Nepal.
